The position of Clerk to Broadwell Parish Council will be available from 1/4/25. Job Title Clerk to the Council and Responsible Financial Officer
Responsible to: Full Council
Responsible for: All Council Staff, property, and financial resources
Employment Status part-time (4 hours per week) including some evening work
Salary Scale LC2 (20) £16.37/hr rising to LC2 (23) £17.29/hr
Salary within grade range LC1 (13) to LC2 (23). The pay is negotiable on experience and qualifications at the interview.
Part-time - 4 hours per normal week – however, due to workflows, flexible working and overtime hours will be accommodated with prior council agreement.
Location – Working from home, with the weekly national working-from-home allowance.
The Parish Council is seeking highly organised and committed applicants to undertake this key role which is responsible for all day-to-day organisation and management of the Council’s services, staff, facilities, and finances. You are expected to be enthusiastic, flexible and community-focused with good management, administrative, interpersonal, accounting, and IT skills to work successfully with Councillors, external organisations, and the community.
Ideally, you should possess the CiLCA qualification and have a sound understanding of local authority organisation and management, however, training can be provided for someone who has transferrable administration skills.
Some evening meeting attendance is required. We offer excellent nationally based terms and conditions of employment for this post which involves evening attendances for meetings. The council holds approximately 6 bi-monthly meetings a year. The Councillors are a friendly group and all very pro-active in their individual areas of council work.
